The Crystal Goblet
For some reason, there is a huge stigma about a diamond’s color. While it can make a huge difference in a diamond’s price, one color grade really doesn’t make a difference in a diamond’s beauty.
Let me tell you about the crystal goblets. Imagine I have lined up 23 crystal goblets of distilled water along a long banquet table. The first cup, I leave alone. This is a D quality diamond. It is the purest diamond there is. It is extremely rare, and very beautiful. Then, in the next cup, I put a single drop of yellow food coloring. Could you tell the difference in the two?
How much difference is there in a color grade? Two color grades? Four? Could you tell the difference between goblet D and goblet H? Is that slight difference worth 900 dollars to you?
